How this website-to-subreddits tool works
Paste your homepage URL. We fetch the public HTML (title, meta description, body text — same extractor as onboarding, no favicon storing), ask OpenRouter for a summary, audience, 6 keywords, and 8 subreddit guesses, then verify every guess against live subreddit search and hydrate the top 12 with about.json (members, descriptions). A best-fit score (member scale × keyword hits) sorts the grid. If OpenRouter is down we fall back to title/meta tokens so the tool still returns rooms.
How the list is built
- 1
Read the site
Public homepage fetch with SSRF guards (no private IPs). Cached by host 24h so repeats are free.
- 2
Draft hypotheses
OpenRouter proposes keywords and rooms. This is the ~$0.01 LLM step — the one that spends a scan.
- 3
Verify on Reddit
Each keyword and guess hits searchSubreddits. Private, banned, and <50-member rooms are dropped like the finder promises.
Who this is for
- Founders who know their product but not Reddit's map.
- Agencies scoping a campaign in one paste.
- Anyone who typed their niche into Reddit search and got junk.
Limits
One of 3 shared scans. LLM guesses can hallucinate dead rooms — we filter, but always open the sub before you post. Analysis card shows even when the list is short.
Do you store my site?
No. We cache the analysis by host for 24h for speed, not the HTML.
Why is a huge unrelated sub listed?
Relevance search is loose. If the description doesn't fit, skip it — fit score is a sort, not a promise.
What next after the list?
Run the opportunity finder on the same URL to find threads asking for help.
