How this Reddit mention finder works

A mention finder shows where a product, brand, or topic showed up on Reddit recently — in posts and in comments. Paste a name people actually type, such as Notion or ChatGPT. We pull matching threads from the last 30 days and list them newest first, with the subreddit, score, and a link to the original.

How the ranking is calculated

   Search posts and comments

   Two Reddit searches run in parallel: posts and comments, sorted by new, limited to the past month. Multi-word queries are matched as a phrase.

   Keep real mentions

   Comments are kept only if the body contains your query. Duplicates are dropped. If comment search is thin, we open a few matching posts and scan their recent comments too.

   Newest first

   Everything is merged and ordered by time, not by karma. You see up to 10 hits so you can read what people said this week, not a greatest-hits list from years ago.

Score is shown for context. It is not the sort order. A 2-point comment from an hour ago can matter more than a 200-point post from three weeks back if you are watching a launch.

Limits

One free scan per visitor, shared across all free tools. Coverage is the last 30 days, public content Reddit’s search returns — not a full firehose, not deleted comments, not every subreddit. Brand names with common words (Apple, Meta) will mix unrelated hits; use the name customers type. To find communities for a niche instead, use the subreddit finder.
