What Reddit comment downvotes actually do

Comment downvotes lower the score on one reply. Enough of a drop and Reddit collapses the comment in the thread — people have to expand it to read it. You paste the comment permalink, choose how many downvotes, and set how fast they arrive. Default price is $0.05 each, default speed 50 per hour.

Downvotes do not delete the comment. They change how visible it is. The permalink is the link with /comment/ in it, not the post URL. To bury the whole thread, use post downvotes. To take the post down on Reddit, use post removal.

When a downvote is the wrong unit

  • The damaging line is the post itself — title and body, sitting on Google. That is a post-level job, not a comment score.
  • You need the comment gone, not collapsed. We do not sell comment deletion as a separate SKU; post removal is priced per thread.
  • You meant to boost a reply of your own. That is comment upvotes.
