How this subreddit rules checker works

Most removals are not mysterious. The subreddit already published the rules; people skip them. Paste a community name. We fetch the public about page and the rules list, then show posting limits (text-only, no images, restricted posting) next to each rule.

How the list is built

   Load the public about page

   Reddit’s public about JSON gives the display name, member count, description, NSFW flag, and submission type.

   Load the rules list

   The rules endpoint returns short names, which posts or comments they apply to, and the full text mods wrote.

   Surface the posting limits

   Text-only, link-only, no images, no videos, no polls, and restricted posting are called out as pills so you see them before the wall of text.

Public rules are not the whole story. Automod, karma floors, and “search first” culture often live in the sidebar or a pinned post. Open the subreddit and read a day of threads anyway.

Limits

One free scan per visitor, shared across all free tools. Private, banned, and quarantined communities will not return. We read Reddit’s public about page when it answers, and a public archive when Reddit blocks the live JSON. Rules can change without notice.
