Most Reddit posts fail in the title. People scroll New the way they scroll a phone: one second, then gone. If the title sounds like marketing, or like it was written for a blog, they do not open it. Nothing in the body can fix that.
The free title generator is for drafts. The rules below are for what you actually submit.
Titles that get opened
| Skip | Write |
|---|---|
| Some thoughts on building a SaaS | I spent $4,000 on Reddit Ads. Here are the numbers. |
| Game-changing tool for founders | I cold-emailed 200 people I found on Reddit. 31 replied. |
| You won’t believe this growth hack | We got our first 50 users from one thread. Exact steps. |
| Check out my app | I built X because Y kept breaking. Feedback welcome. |
Specific number. Past tense. Result in the title. No “revolutionary,” no “you need to see this,” no emoji.
Questions work when they are the question the room is already asking. “How are you handling inbound from Reddit without a community manager?” can live. “What do you think of my startup?” cannot.
The first two sentences
After the click you have another few seconds. Put the result or the conflict first. Backstory later, or never.
- Result: “0 to 2,000 users in 60 days, Reddit only. No ads. Process below.”
- Shared pain: “Every guide says ‘be helpful.’ Nobody says what that looks like on a Tuesday.”
- Claim you will prove: “I spend 15 minutes a day on Reddit. Here is the loop.”
Write for scanners
Two or three sentence paragraphs. Line breaks. Bold the takeaway if the post is long. Number the steps. If someone can get the point in ten seconds of scrolling, they will upvote and then actually read.
Give away the method. The conversion on Reddit is: they trust you, they open the profile, they find the product. A teaser that withholds the useful part gets nothing.
Body rules that save removals
- No affiliate dressing. No “link in comments” games if the room hates links.
- Disclose if it is your product. Rooms smell it anyway.
- Stay for the comments. A ghost OP is a downvote magnet.
- Post at a live hour. Timing guide.
Want it written and published from an aged high-CQS account? Reddit posts are $10. You still pick the subreddit. We still write like a person, not a landing page.
Questions
What Reddit title format gets the most upvotes?
Specific outcomes beat slogans. “I spent $4,000 on Reddit Ads. Here are the numbers.” outperforms “Thoughts on Reddit ads?” Clickbait and “you won’t believe” titles get downvoted in serious rooms.
How long should a Reddit post be?
Long enough to be useful, short enough to scan. Short paragraphs, numbered steps, and a result up front. Walls of text get closed.
